Reuters names Pamuk its US deputy foreign policy editor

Humeyra Pamuk

Reuters U.S. foreign policy editor Don Durfee recently shared the below note with staff:

Dear all,

I’m delighted to announce that Humeyra Pamuk will be our new Deputy U.S. Foreign Policy editor. In this role, she will help manage our coverage of major international stories, including the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and will work with the team as a player-coach to develop exclusive and insightful stories.

Humeyra brings extensive and varied experience to this job. In her 22 years with Reuters, she has covered everything from energy and commodities to coups and conflict in bureaus including Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul and London. Since joining the Foreign Policy team in 2019, she has established herself as a highly regarded State Department correspondent.

Humeyra will remain in Washington and will report to me. Please join me in congratulating her.

Best,

Don
