Bloomberg hires Shin as Toronto bureau chief

Bloomberg News has hired Melissa Shin as its Toronto bureau chief. She will start on Sept. 30. Shin is currently at Newcom Media as editorial director of Advisor.ca and Investment Executive. Before that, she was editor in chief of Advisor’s Edge. She was also managing editor of Corporate Knights. Shin holds a bachelor’s degree from York University.

Bloomberg hires Janicki as a data visualization reporter

Bloomberg News has hired Julia Han Janicki as a data visualization reporter. She is based in London. Janicki previously worked at Agence France-Presse as a data journalist. She has also worked at Reuters as a freelance data journalist. She holds a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
